Process Control Engineer - Level II

Job Description

CTG is seeking to fill a Process Control Engineer  - Level II opening for our client in Granite City, IL.

 

Location: Granite City, IL
Duration: 12 Months

 

Duties:

  • Develop and maintain software and hardware for process control systems across all plant areas.

  • Design, implement, and support process control systems using Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers.

  • Manage real-time applications, models, and databases hosted on OpenVMS and Windows Servers.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standard operating procedures.

  • Analyze production processes and user requirements for system development.

  • Perform detailed design of system specifications, including hardware and software requirements.

  • Code, test, and implement applications/systems while providing user training.

  • Troubleshoot issues and support critical production systems to maximize efficiency with minimal interruptions.

  • Coordinate project design and development efforts within a small project team.

  • Participate in an after-hours support rotation, including occasional work on off-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Skills:

  • Advanced OpenVMS and FORTRAN experience (C/C++ or MS .NET desired).

  • Experience with RDP, intermediate networking, and Oracle/SQL databases.

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience:

  • Experience in process control, manufacturing, or industrial automation.

  • SCADA and Level 1 systems experience preferred.

  • Project management experience within a technical environment is beneficial.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Equivalent experience of 4 years in a relevant technical field may be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00/hour to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
