CTG is seeking an Infrastructure Architect who will be responsible for designing the end to end infrastructure (Hardware, Software, and Integration) required to satisfy the non-functional (sizing, availability, and performance) requirements for business applications.  As an end-to-end infrastructure architect, you will collaborate with developers, infrastructure, solution architecture, operations and security to implement solutions and identify patterns or opportunities for automation and DevOps. 

The resource will work closely with Solution/Development Architects during Requirements and Solutions Analysis along with Application Development teams during Solutions Design to understand how an application functions and the software products required in supporting it. Once a design has been completed, the Infrastructure Architect will also assist in the provisioning artifacts required to support the operational teams in building and supporting the solutions they have designed.  Ensure architectural integrity and compliance, while at the same time working with Operations to continuously improve availability, serviceability, and efficiency of solutions.

Location: Remote, but local to Buffalo or someone who could come onsite time to time would be preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology required an additional four (4) years of experience in information technology may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Seven (7) years in Information Technology disciplines with experience in architecting Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions required.
  • Experience with TCP/IP Networking, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Server Administration and SAN Technologies required.
  • Extensive experience with the following technologies: Arista Networks, Palo Alto, Cloud Technologies, ExtraHop, F5, VMWare, Red Hat Enterprise 6.x and 7.x, Microsoft Windows Operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, Cisco Networks, Cisco UCS and Storage Administration.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL Database and Middleware Technologies

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Networking, compute, hypervisor, and storage technologies such as Azure, AWS, Arista Networks, ExtraHop, Palo Alto, SDDC, IaaS, SaaS, F5 Load Balancers, Cisco Networks, Cisco UCS, VMWare, Oracle Z series, Dell Compellent, EMC and Pure.    
  • Assist in the design, system analysis, security and administration of a heterogeneous Windows and Linux Red Hat enterprise environment.
  • Assist in implementation and support of IRO initiatives such as ForeScout (NAC), Data Loss Protection (DLP), CyberArk, and Identity Access Management (IAM).
  • Provide input for the short & long term architecture strategy for IT infrastructure. Communicates and validates infrastructure architecture with the management team.
  • Provides third level support for incidents and problems.
  • Adhere to Change Control policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the Infrastructure Architecture Ticket Queue and works on tickets assigned.
  • Meet project deliverables for new and / or changes to the existing Infrastructure Architecture.
  • Identify new opportunities that reduce costs while maintaining adequate functionality and support, improve technology performance and / or stability and improve existing processes therefore reducing effort or increasing productivity.
  • Performs full cycle management of Infrastructure projects as required.
  • Serves as a technology liaison to the Business and Solution Architects in developing and linking technical solutions. 
  • Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards that drive the design of Infrastructure systems across the enterprise.
  • Keeps abreast of technological changes and advancements; identifies opportunities to apply technology to drive efficiencies.
  • Consults, as needed, with the core processes and business units of the Organization on effective approaches to interfacing/integrating with Infrastructure Technology.
  • Responsible for completing and enhancing the Server Build Requirements (SBR) Document, Solution Architecture Design Document (SADD), Firewall Change Request (FCR) document and the Security By Design (SBD) document, as needed.
