Required qualifications, background and experience:
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related experience
• Strong C / C++
• Expert with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Office Applications
• Strong Windows knowledge
• Experience with source control workflow (GIT)
• Database experience (PostgreSQL and Redis)
• In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle including testing best practices
• Strong verbal and written communications
• Ability to lead small software development teams
• Ability to coach other team members
• Knowledge of software patterns
• Experience with refactoring strategies
Primary responsibilities:
The senior software lead developer will be working on a warehouse management system for a major US food and beverage manufacturer. The project involves adding new capabilities to an existing custom system working in a Windows development environment. Less than 10% annual travel would be expected.
The senior software developer will:
• Develop and document the system requirements working closely with the client’s personnel
• Work with Subject Matter Experts, Architect and System Engineer to develop system level architecture and application designs
• Become a Subject Matter Expert of the warehouse management system
• Develop high quality software solutions for our clients within schedule and budget
• Technically lead developers and key development projects
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and applications/tools
• Enjoy solving challenging problems
• Assist with system support and troubleshooting (Helpdesk)
Preferred qualifications, background and experience:
• Full Stack Developer
• Object Oriented design and development
• .Net development / C#
• HTLM5 / JavaScript / CSS3
• Linux and Mac OS X
• MySQL, NoSQL, SQL Server and DB2
• Supply Chain Execution (SCE) systems (warehousing, transportation, manufacturing)
• Systems/application design and development, automation equipment interfaces (e.g. warehouse management systems and associated automation equipment)
• RF hand-held devices (Motorola, Intermec, and mobile devices)
• Cloud computing (AWS, Digital Ocean, Azure)
• BDD – Behavior driven development
• TDD – Test driven development
• Engage with cutting edge technology and new software trends with the ability to quickly evaluate and grasp the technology
